day 17 FLIN FLON to PRINCE ALBERT, Saskatchewan
june 17
although the day dawned brightly and we blasted Bela Bartok on our way out of town, the sky turned seven shades of grey and we got wild rain again plus incredible lightning.
last night at dinner, Greg and Jan served us Pickled Asparaguswhich was, literally, dynamite (hot hot hot!). we stopped at Eddie's on the way out of town and picked up a few jars for the road. plus homemade garlic sausage to bbq and smoked whitefish. but that was all before the deluge.
so, once again, we wound up spending time in a cafe, this time - Shananigan's Coffee and Desert Bar, and calling every motel within a 30 mile radius. slim pickings for those on a budget but we have landed here at the Twilite Motel, grateful and dry. needless to say, we are developing a real RAGE TO CAMP having been deprived by foul weather again and again.
we MAY go to the Duck Lake Interpretive Center tomorrow or just push on to Edmonton, depending upon mood and weather.
Sorry to see you guys go - great visitors. It rained here pretty well all day so I thought camping might be off the page. Better luck today. Bon voyage!
