Bismarck, North Dakota
weird is not the word. maybe wild. maybe freaky.
SNOW greeted us in Richardton, North Dakota this morning.
thick wet snow.
not in the tent thank god.
we drove late and stayed at the Ray Bem Motel (its own story).
now we are in Bismarck.
so many stories, so little internet!
our plans are in a twist with tornado warnings,
damaging hail possibilities but certain rain predicted.
just spoke to our northern correspondents in Flin Flon
where it is "cool" (which for them is in the 30s or 40s) but
not wet. onward.
Had to laugh--a past co-worker from South Dakota tells me that NORTH Dakotans are "strange", a cousin from Montana calls ALL Dakotans "different" and now this from your travels! (wink) How many days before you get to Sarah's? Can't wait for more pictures!

Sorry I missed your call today sis. It was a morning to remember (or perhaps to forget) what with the deadline and the dead battery. A long day full of events capped by leaving Sam in Manhattan with the car and taking the keys home. But in between there were lots of great street performances in the 4th Street arts festival and then too there was Rae's second prom...
ReplyDeleteSo snow heh? Tell us more, tell us more... And waht about that motel? The name along calls for explanation.
So little internet? I am waiting for my next map installment and, of course, pictures would be nice. But I realize that we folks at home are a trifle demanding. Will look for more posts.
Love you dearly and ask you to please avoid the tornadoes and damaing hail.
